ICPIC 2026 – 18th International Congress on Polymers in Concrete

Prof. Andrzej Garbacz

Dear Esteemed Colleagues,

Since 1975, the International Congress on Polymers in Concrete (ICPIC) has served as a long-established, non-profit international platform bringing together researchers, engineers, and industry professionals focused on the applications of polymers in and on concrete. Throughout its history, ICPIC has played a pivotal role in fostering scientific exchange and advancing innovative materials and technologies within the field of construction engineering.

The 18th International Congress on Polymers in Concrete (ICPIC 2026) aims to build upon this strong scientific legacy by integrating contemporary technological advancements and emerging research directions into the traditional framework of polymer–concrete composites. The congress will provide an interdisciplinary forum for the discussion of recent developments in polymer-modified concrete technologies, including alternative binders, advanced chemical admixtures, fiber-reinforced polymers (FRP) and fiber reinforcements, surface modification and protection techniques, self-healing materials, and phase change material (PCM)-based systems for energy management in the built environment.

In addition to material-oriented innovations, ICPIC 2026 will place particular emphasis on the integration of digital and intelligent technologies into the construction sector. Key thematic areas will include artificial intelligence-assisted material design and optimization, robotic construction methods, digital twin technologies, structural health monitoring systems, earthquake-resilient polymer-composite solutions, and automation-based advanced engineering and simulation tools.

Through this comprehensive and forward-looking approach, ICPIC 2026 seeks to establish a new paradigm for polymer–concrete composites, addressing critical challenges related to sustainability, durability, circular economy principles, and structural safety. The congress aspires to provide a strategic vision that will guide future research, innovation, and implementation, contributing meaningfully to the construction of resilient and sustainable infrastructures worldwide.

We cordially invite researchers, academics, engineers, and industry stakeholders from around the globe to participate in ICPIC 2026, share their latest findings, and engage in high-level scientific discussions that will shape the future of polymers in concrete.

We look forward to welcoming you to ICPIC 2026.

Sincerely,

Prof. Andrzej Garbacz

President of the International Congress on Polymers in Concrete
